How to Cut and Paste on a Mac Using an Apple or Windows Keyboard
Submitted by ingram on Thu, 01/08/2015 - 11:47am

In the Windows world, it's know as Cut & Paste. However slightly different, but essentially the same, it's known as Copy & Move on a Mac. For those coming from Windows, you may find yourself searching for the answer of how to Cut & Paste documents or forlders on a Mac. I'll go over the process below for an Apple Keyboard, as well as a Windows Keyboard:
Apple Keyboard:
- Command + C - This copies the data
- Command + Option + V - This moves the data (cuts it from the old location, and pastes it to the new location)
Windows Keybaord:
- Windows Key + C - This copies the data
- Windows Key + Alt + V - This moves the data (cuts it from the old location, and pastes it to the new location)
